Key Features

There's no single button in Power BI that tells you whether a model is built well. Is it a clean star schema, or has it quietly drifted into snowflakes? Are the relationships sound, is the DAX following good patterns, is the Power Query doing too much? Normally you'd answer that by opening TMDL files one at a time and tracing the model by hand. This skill reads the project directly and runs 85 checks across 10 areas — star schema, relationships, DAX, Power Query, report structure, naming, architecture, data types, security, and complexity — then hands back one health report showing what's solid and what needs attention. No Tabular Editor, no DAX Studio, no exports — run it with /pbip-analysis.

How it works

Full report (.md) — all findings with affected objects

  • Compact report (.md) — summarized for quick review

  • Structured data (.json) — for automation

  • Relationship topology — fact vs dimension classification with relationship diagram

  • DAX function frequency — top 20 most-used functions across all measures

  • Power Query source inventory — connectors and step counts per query

All files follow consistent naming: {project}_pbip_analysis_{date}_{time}.md
