Troubleshooting

Key Features

Power BI auto-sizes columns, but the results are rarely what you want — some too wide, some truncating values. Dragging borders in Desktop works until the data changes. This skill shows you current widths in a compact summary, lets you set exact pixel values, and auto-resizes the visual container to fit.

How it works

Type /column-width, select your page and visual, and the skill shows you the current state:

  1. Lists all pages and their matrix/table visuals

  2. Displays a compact summary of current column widths (row headers and values only, excluding tooltips)

  3. You specify which columns to resize and the desired pixel widths

  4. The skill updates the widths and auto-resizes the visual container to fit

What you get

  • Current width summary — compact table showing each column's current pixel width

  • Updated visual.json — new column widths applied with visual container resized to fit
